Part of childhood for most of us here, I'd say. Bob certainly wasn't a household name, but you'd be challenged to find anyone from my generation who doesn't instantly recognize "Three Is a Magic Number," "My Hero Zero" or "Figure Eight." Rest in peace, Bob, and thanks.

Conjunction Junction was his masterwork in my view. Helped me to learn to speak proper English!

He initially made his name as a real cool cat jazz singer. Miles dug him: check their hip beatnik holiday collab "Blue Xmas."

In the UK, Bob Dorough would've received an honor from the Queen for his contributions to culture and education. Perhaps not a full knighthood, but an OBE, at least.
