Checking TMBG

I knew They Might Be Giants were also big with kids but I didn't know they actually recorded children's albums.
Also, one of the few ringtones I would consider.

Children's albums are a big deal these days. Dan Zanes from the Del Fuegos is the king of kiddie-pop, and Jason Ringenberg is recording kid's albums under the name Farmer Jason.

I went to a Farmer Jason concert a month or so ago in a gazebo in a little park. It was pretty hysterical - little kids were climbing all over the guy. But he also did "Absolutely Sweet Marie" and "Help! There's a Fire" - kind of odd at a children's show, but they seemed to like it.

the new zanes album "Catch That Train" (he has Nick Cave guesting on some songs) has been on the family boombox for a couple of weeks now replacing the "ABC " TMBG cd. Zanes is playing here at the end of September and you bet we'll be there.

My wife has been asking me to look for children's music that's not horrible. I just bought that Ralph's World one today but the missus is nuts about Cave so I might catch that train before Christmas.
