Great set, Delvin. I hadn't even heard about Mike Kellie's passing, though it's not surprising since he was substantially older than the other members of the band, right?

Kellie was 69 when he died last year. According to Wikipedia, Peter Perrett and John Perry both are 65. Alan Mair's age isn't given, but from the other info available, it would appear that he's around 68.

Huh - interesting that their ages were that close. I realize now that it's this line from the TP review (first read by me more than 30 years ago!) that made me think that Kellie was older: The quartet's mix of youthful spunk and seasoned experience (drummer Mike Kellie was a member of Spooky Tooth and bassist Alan Mair's résumé stretched back to the early '60s)

That still would've put Kellie under the age of 30 when The Only Ones released their first single, "Lovers of Today." (Pretty old by punk-rock standards of the day, I grant ya.)

Judging from photos of Kellie from his later years, though, I guess he must've lived hard.



He looks a lot older than 69, if you ask me.
