Just listened to Ranaldo go though his new album
track by track. To me, Ranaldo comes off like a really cool record store clerk that I once knew when I was a kid. He knows a lot more than most do but he also seems interested to know what others think. I thought this, while pretty long, was fascinating.
One thing I learned is apparently a lot of record making are happy accidents. Ranaldo would put some things in as filler meaning to correct it later on but would either forget about it or it turned out to be for the best.
If you haven't heard his knew album, Electric Trim, check it out. It's pretty good and "Circular" is very good.
