The Where-Are-They-Now Thread

I saw the Robert Wilson/Tom Waits show "The Black Rider" recently, and among its many joys was seeing these names listed in the cast:

-Richard Strange: ex-Doctors of Madness

-Mary Margaret O'Hara: singer/songwriter, comedian Catherine O'Hara's sister, I believe.

So THAT'S what they're doing now - musical theatre. Reminded me of this great thread from another site, "rock stars who went back to work":

I frequently hear about LA musicians working around here:
- Exene from X had a cool store on Sunset called "You've Got Bad Taste" for a while.
-The guy from the Counting Crows served me drinks at the Viper Room.
-A friend worked with Karl Percoda (original Dream Syndicate guitarist) at an events company, setting up picnics and the like.
-Steve Jones of the Pistols has a daily radio show
-Bob Forrest of Thelonius Monster is a drug counselor - he was still in his suit when I saw a reunited Thelonious recently.
-David J (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets): club DJ
-Dick Dale owned a restaurant in Orange County for a while in the '70s
-Billy Preston: preacher/organist in SouthCentral (or Inglewood?)
-Lee Michaels ('60s rocker "Do You Know What I Mean" etc) has a great restaurant called Killer Shrimp; I eat there alot

On this thread a while back, Josefina/Carmen dug up some interesting info on Precoda's whereabouts these days:

A professor?! Wow, great to hear he's still playing gee-tar.

I was dismayed to see recently that Bob Pfeiffer of Human Switchboard became a music industry weasel (head of Hollywood Records) and was arrested and pled guilty in connection with the Anthony Pellicano case: he illegally wiretapped and spied on a woman.

Has anyone heard MM O'Hara' soundtrack to " Apartment Hunting"?
I was so blown out by "Miss America" that I'm afraid if this soundtrack is bad it will lead me to the dark vortex of depression.

the only thing I've heard by Ms. O'Hara (not counting guest backing vocals and the like) since the brilliant MISS AMERICA was a Christmas EP she put out a few years ago.
Holy cow, this is news to me, Greg Norton of Husker Du is a chef? Ha, next thing you'll tell me is that Bob Mould is an electronica DJ and remixer.

From The Norton's website: "Greg Norton has spent the last 26 years in the restaurant business working with outstanding culinary teams throughout the region"

Huh?! When I saw Husker Du on the '80s, I don't recall him on stage with a wok.

Pretty sure that was a bass in his hand, not a potato peeler. Is he trying to rewrite history or sumthin?
