I'm making no judgment one way or the other on Green Day's bonafides, just the fact that being lectured on the true meaning of punk rock by a right wing dogfucker sets my blood a'boil.

Don't know a whole lot about Seth Mandel, but one of the first things that turns up on a web search for him is "Seth Mandel, Breitbart Author," which right there makes me long to see video of him being whacked in the face with a skillet.

He's both disparaging Green Day for making political remarks and trying to rope John Lydon into his (and the Post's) conservative world view. (As if Lydon fits comfortably under any label but his own.) If he thinks punk's sole reason for being was to be anti-politically correct (a term that didn't exist in the 70s), he doesn't understand punk any more than Billie Joe.
