Aitch in the USA #2

Hey all. Visiting your fair shores shortly for a number of weeks. Will be in Vegas over the new year, then onto Florida and after a few commitments, LA from the 26th to the 28th. Any gigs that come to mind, let me know. Similar time of year to my last visit which is not the best time for such things but there you go. Obligatory trip to Amoeba is also on the cards (thanks Mr Fab).

Where in Florida? That's my neck of the woods. I can recommend a few things to do and places to see if you are coming to the Tampa/St.Pete area.

You got that right. I checked the Whiskey A GoGo, the Echo/Echoplex, and the Terragon ballroom (those last 2 venues esp. recommended for TP-type musics), and came up with a whole lotta nuthin for those 3 days. February looks great, tho.

I'll pick up an LA Weekly tomorrow and see what's happenin'.

Flipping thru an LA Weekly and found a grand total of one show in your perscribed time period that might be of interest to a TP-er: Howe Gelb and Mark Eitzel, at a new joint I'm unfamiliar with called Resident.

Er, unless you want to see an evening of Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, and Bowie tribute acts at a Beverly Hills theater...

Geez Fab. That sounds grand. I very much dig both gents and have only seen them (each) once. I'll have to see if I've got the dates right and take it from there. Thanks also Zoo but I'm resort-bound for this section of proceedings.

Eitzel-Gelb are scheduled to be here in DC in early April and their date is a rare instance of a conflict with someone else I'm tempted to see - Boss Hog. Any suggestions to which would be better to see? I've seen Eitzel before and he was great.
