Man, I need some of whatever you have. Ha. It drives my kids bonkers that I hear parts of songs in other songs. It is no wonder there are lawsuits every year. The Stairway to Heaven one blew my mind.

Here is one for ya - does anyone think any of Todd Rundgren's early output sounds similar to Flying Burrito Brothers? I mean something about Hello It's Me sounds so much like Hot Burrito #2 it is uncanny. I did not discover the FBB's until later on in life but love Gilded Palace so much. I knew the Hello song from my child hood on the radio. The very first time I heard #2 that song came to mind immediately. Obviously it is not enough to call foul as all artists borrow and honestly it is not that similar, just something about it. Don't get me started on Jayhawks' Waiting for the Sun and Tom Petty's lift the next summer.

One of the reasons I love music so much. I had a ton of time to kill this weekend and started looking into early Todd R and more about the FBB's. Come to find out Hello was a tripped out song from 1968 by the Nazz. I found it on Youtube, sounds really cool. Apparently Todd was in this band as well, very young. So who knows, maybe GP heard that version and liked the vibe or maybe just a total coincidence. If you have not heard the Nazz version, check it out. Pretty neat. Also saw where the Isley Brothers covered it.
