Great list, Delvin (thought I still think Christian Lunch would've been a good inclusion). Any feedback, pro or con, from your listeners?

"Democracy?" - The Damned

Shh-- don't tell anyone, but don't they have a 40th Anniversary tour coming up next year?

Knock on wood, 2016 hasn't bothered Captain Sensible.

In October, they played a special 40th anniversary show in NYC and LA that started with the latest stuff and went back to 'Damned, Damned, Damned' which was played in its entirety. These shows are going to be a reduced version of that. Skipping DC this time - grrr.

And nope, no feedback either way. One of my co-workers (who used to be a DJ at a classical music station) checked it out on the replayer just now. He said it's a bit too screaming for his taste.

I saw The Damned just once, on their Grave Disorder tour. (Holy cow, can that really be 15 years ago? Yep, sure enough.) They sounded great, and Vanian was in superb voice. The friend who'd taken my extra ticket was unfamiliar with The Damned, but he walked out a new fan.

I don't know if I can make that Seattle show -- my new job makes my hours unpredictable sometimes, and it's gotten harder to plan concerts on school nights. But my wife probably will lvoe an April weekend getaway to Vancouver.

My first time to see the Damned was that same Grave Disorder tour. They played what was at the time Austin's premier metal bar, the Back Room. That became their "home" club every time they came through town after that. They were incredible that night.

I saw them again at Fun Fun Fun Fest, wherein they played the entire Damned Damned Damned album, plus greatest hits. Also an incredible show. You realize just how many excellent songs they have in their repertoire when you get a barrage of them at a show.

Bought my tix for the Damned in St. Louis two or three weeks ago, back in the old world. Who knew that when I bought tickets for a concert six months in advance, I'd have legitimate worries as to whether martial law will be declared before the date of the show?

And yeah, that's wee bit dramatic, but I don't consider anything to be too outlandish to happen anymore.
