Not a musician, but one of the all time great entertainers. I loved the hell out of that guy.

Sez you! What about that "Putting On The Ritz" duet he did with the Monster, huh, huh?! At LEAST as brilliant as the Bing/Bowie "Little Drummer Boy," and almost as funny.

I think it's safe to say that he was universally loved, or at least liked, by all who knew of him. Just cant imagine anyone ever saying, "That guy sucks! I HATE Gene Wilder!"

As much as I love Young Frankenstein, not to mention Willy Wonka and Blazing Saddles (sadly never seen Silver Streak), I have a special place in my heart for The Frisco Kid. It can't possibly be the first movie I ever saw him in, but it was the first one I saw that I can remember. Not a brilliant film, but it charmed the heck out of me as 10-11 year old.
