Money come, money go so sang Yes. This song can mostly go. Pink Floyd's Money is the definitive song about money, so much so that it should be forbidden for anyone to write a song called money ever again.

Love vs Love vs Love

Lennon's gentle piano ditty is a snooze, with lyrics that border on embarrassing. (Being brief and to the point is one thing; making that point through circular statements is another.) Robyn Hitchcock's song has the benefit of a rhythm section and typically Robynesque amusing lyrics. But both have to bow down to Prince's song -- utterly funky, with one of Prince's best lyrics.

If it takes a movie scene to bring out the song's full effect, then that's a ding against the song right there. Give me the passion and energy of The Jam's great debut single over anything by the Eagles.

Joe Walsh / The Eagles to me are separate entities. I love Joe Walsh solo. And maybe I should clarify. To get the full effect (visual as well as audio) watch the movie! So no ding there.
