R.I.P. Kevin Junior of the Chamber Strings

R.I.P. Kevin Junior of the Chamber Strings
January 18, 2016 04:51AM
Kevin Junior, leader of the Chamber Strings and the Rosehips, frequent sideman to both Epic Soundtracks (Junior's musical soulmate) and his brother Nikki Sudden, died on Friday. He was only in his 40s, but he's suffered from endocarditis for years.

Month of Sundays, the second Chamber Strings album, is a pop masterpiece, but I love everything he did. I hope he suffers no more.

Nice to see Pravda Records has reissued the first album, Gospel Morning, on vinyl and cd. Perhaps Month of Sundays will follow...

Oh, wow, thanks for the heads up. AMOS is one of those records that changed my life, but I love the first one, too. If Pravda really wanted to do the world as service, they'd also reissue Kevin's pre-Strings band the Rosehips' lone album, which is devilishly difficut to find and very expensive when you do. (Yes, I'm one of the suckers who paid way too much for it, though I've listened to it so many times I think it was worth it.)
