TPE, Into Paradise, Stars of Heaven, A House

Like all of the above, but could not get into Microdisney. Same for Fatima Mansions, so I guess I just don't care for Cathal Coughlan. Blue in Heaven never made much of an impression either.

The last four I've never heard.

I actually like BiH better as a Joy Division ripoff - at least they came off better on record that way. I think the writer's probably correct that their Stooges period got sanitized in the studio.

This article has put me on a major TPE kick.

I would have expected Cactus World News to be on this list...were they too "big"?

BTW, other than CWN and U2, I can't think of any other Irish band of any notoriety from the '80s.

I'd have no problem seeing Microdisney at #1 on the list.

Were Tuesday Blue from Ireland, or do I have my countries confused?

I was surprised by the lack of CWN as well, but maybe they were more popular in Ireland than here. Pretty sure this list was compiled by the home country.

I'm cheating, but Harvest Ministers formed in 1987. One of the least prolific bands ever. Just four albums, and last year they released an anthology!
