Cosmic Psychos/Onyas

So I was watching the Cosmic Psychos documentary, which is excellent--though I could do with less (read: "no") footage of Eddie Vedder and a guy from Mudhoney dropping coins from their ass into a pint glass--and they showed clips of fellow Australian band The Onyas. (The Onyas leader, "Mad Macka," became the Psychos' guitarist in recent years.) Anyone else know much about this band? It's the kind of no-frills, battering, punk/phallus-rock that sometimes hits the spot with me . . . I ordered their CDs from overseas--nothing available in digital.

I'm pretty sure I've heard Get Shitfaced With the Onyas, but I didn't know until now they were from Australia.

The copyright on the back of that album reads, "Every Band in Brisbane Sucks Including Yours 1996."

They were fun live. Used to get a lot of Hard Ons comparisons.

Whether that competitive pursuit is preferable to dropping coins from your ass into a pint glass, I leave to your discretion.

granted there's something hilarious and juvenile about shitting quarters out yer ass, but whisky (never beer) really puts the shine on a twentyfive cent piece.
