It would have been more representative with a few tunes in French thrown in; musicians from both sides of the linguistic divide collaborate all the time, but it's extremely hard to find a radio format that will mix them in one format.

That said, it's a nice mix of old and new, well known and more obscure.

Lions in the Street! Great band - glad you included them. Unfortunately they've just gone on extended hiatus while the leader attends law school.

Next time you do an all-Canadian show (and you will), don't forget Art Bergmann/The Young Canadians!

When I was in Montreal I picked up a couple of Francophone artists (in reference to Phillippe's post). Jean LeLoup (or LeClerc, depending on at what point in his career you catch him) and Karkwa are particularly interesting.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely incorporate them into a sequel.

The phones were remarkably silent during this program. Nobody called to make any requests -- not even for Rush! (My wife later expressed surprise that I hadn't included Arcade Fire.)

In addition to Michael Toland's two excellent suggestions, you could check out Malajube, Dumas, les Brestfeeders, Vincent Vallières and Marie-Pierre Arthur. Also, to go back to in time a decade or three, Corbeau's "Illégal" should be a punk anthem as revered as "Anarchy in the UK", "(I'm) Stranded" or "Blank Generation" were it not for the fact it's sung in French.

I forgot les Breastfeeders! I saw them during Pop Montreal (as well as Karkwa) - one of the best rock & roll shows I'd seen in quite a while. Their album Dans La Gueule Des Jours is a corker.

Hey, on the eve of Scotland voting for its independence from the U.K. (I think the vote's this month or next), can you do an all-Scotland show? With mandatory Frightened Rabbit, needless to say - there are 'radio-friendly' edits of some of their best tracks, too.

An all-Scottish show would also be great. If just for the "I didn't realize they were from Scotland" factor.

Skids, Altered Images, Orange Juice, Aztec Camera, Simple Minds, Biffy Clyro, Mogwai, Primal Scream, Teenage Fanclub and on and on.

And I'm sure Delvin could dig up a bunch of rarities no one has ever hear outside of Dunfermline...

Don't forget the Fire Engines and their under rated offshoot the Nectarine No 9.

Nice Canadian programme, Del...the omissions of both Snow and Barenaked Ladies notwithstanding.

Factmag is the shit Aitch. They have pretty sweet 70's and 80's lists too. I have discovered tons of music from them.
Scotland has the some of best music. Boards of Canada, TJ&MC, and Cocteau Twins are the 3 best imho. After that: Orange Juice, Mogwai, Primal Scream, Teenage Fanclub, Incredible String Band, Rezillos, Exploited,etc

Old news by now, I know. Still ... ouch.

Will probably devote an episode in the near future to Aussie music. Scot-rock will be on deck one o' these days.

Aussie rock - hell yes! So much great stuff comes out of that fair country, as Aitch can tell us.
