I wouldn't target the crew buses. Why take it out on the roadies? They're just doing a job.

Even though the article opens by calling Styx "one of the greatest rock bands ever," I choked it back and continued reading. Not much elaborate detail, as to how A&M allegedly cheated the band. But fair warning, the photo of Styx in concert does not go well with breakfast. It's sad enough to be one of the musical undead, but by now, James "JY" Young looks like Baron Samedi himself.

Record companies haven't been screwing their signees for decades, and Styx certainly isn't the first act to claim that a company is using arcane accounting rules to get around paying fairly for digital sales, but I have a hard time taking any report seriously on a site with headlines "Bikini clad Kendall Jenner paddles her butt off in the Hamptons" and "Kendra Wilkinson's mom boobs were busting out of her top" right next to the article in question.

I guess TMZ.com's editors wanted to include a fluff piece, and decided to cover the Styx lawsuit.

I also have to wonder about the TMZ audience. Old farts like me (or us) will know who Styx is, but I wonder if the folks who know who Kendall Jenner and Kendra Wilkinson are (of which I am not one - the names are a mystery to me) will know or care about Styx.

The hell with Styx and whoever. I followed the link on the page about grown-up Lisa Loring (Wednesday Addams from the original TV show) filing for a final divorce. She'll soon be available, guys.

The younger set probably will know who Styx is, owing to their endless rotation on classic rock stations ... not to mention Cartman singing "Come Sail Away" on South Park. (Anyone familiar with Parker & Stone knows that they've never been ones to let good taste stand in their way.)

I've quit bringing up the fake-rock bands in front of my wife. Last time I did, she pointed out, "Styx is no more bombastic that Muse ... let alone Queen." I told her, "Point taken ... but Dennis DeYoung sings like a gondolier ferrying listeners down the river into Hell."

And I really didn't have any significant reaction to the news about the bus fires. As I said, they were the roadies' buses; no need to pile on those guys. Now if it had been the band's bus, and the master tapes for the next Styx album had gone up in flames, I might have thrown a party.
