"Needle Hits E" - nice! I always liked Sugar's B-sides - they were often as good as the album tracks.

Nice to the Fluid as well - after years of being on the fence about them I recently became a convert.

Wow, that completely escaped my attention. Happy belated birthday, Ira! Boy, if anyone deserves a tribute on my show ...

Did you get to see the band live? I saw The Fluid several times in the '80s, so they won me over pretty early. The Meat Puppets/Fluid show I saw in 1989 was unbelievable. Punch 'n Judy remains one of my favorite albums from that decade.

No, I never saw them play. Strangely, I didn't really get into them until the past year or so. I tried a couple of times in the past decade - any band that claims inspiriation from MC5/Stooges-era Detroit is always of interest to me. But for whatever reason they just never clicked with me. But a few months ago I came across a used copy of the Glue/Roadmouth CD and decided to give it another shot. Putting it on in the car during my half-hour drives to and from work each day made all the difference - that's where the Fluid is meant to be heard, not in the confines of an office.

Wow - the Outlets! Hadn't thought of them in a while....

I saw the Fluid in late 80s too - maybe on that same tour with the Meat Puppets - and thought it was a good show. The albums had their moments, but never really did all that much for me, though I still have them. One of them (Glue, maybe?) is on a very vivid purple vinyl, as I recall. I should go back and listen to them again.

And yes, Brad, I too wish I'd brought The Eight Legged Groove Machine to work with me!
