agree that "flipside" or "slash" was 'it' in L.A.? what about "search
& destroy" in san fran? and "boston groupie news"? here's the very
basic list that I have so far for the big 5 punk cities:

punk rock and new york rocker for NYC

slash and flipside for LA

search & destroy for san fran

nuthin for cleveland yet

Boston Rock in Boston...

Jet Lag was St. Louis' zine, but the Lou would not be considered one of the 5 big punk cities. However, both Beatle Bob and Jeff Tweedy wrote for it, so that's cool.

Re: Boston fanzines....Boston Rock was not a fanzine. It was a money making business and it was a newspaper much like the Pheonix or The Real Paper.
The Boston Groupie News was a fanzine in the true sense of the word. Also the BGN was there at the very beginning, from 1975 through to 1982.

However, Ohio St. DID pay off the officials for the NCAA National title game against the U in '03 (i think)
