Cloud Cuckoo Land in The Lego Movie

Are the folks who made The Lego Movie really big Lightning Seeds fans or is it just a coincidence? Curiously, "Pure" was nowhere on the soundtrack.

"Magic Bullet's by Wire also mentions cloud cuckoo land and I wondered the same thing about them. Your question has spurred me on to run a quick check and I think it is safe to say 'no' to the Lighting Seeds influence.

I read S.J. Perelman refer to Hollywood as Cloud Cuckooland in humorous essays written in the 1940s or 50s I think (I read them much later in collections).

Ah man! I need to dig my Perelman collection out from whatever pile of books it's currently resting in. That guy's the best.

Like all the good bits in Hollywood, it was outright theft from Aristophanes. Dude oughtta sue.
