I feel kind of sorry for these guys, the same as I do for the Vulgar Boatmen - they were perfecting their take on the mid-80s college rock sound just in time for grunge, shoegaze and indie rock to shove that sound out of the spotlight.

Somewhat bizarrely, Flight of Mavis managed to land a cut on the soundtrack for the Olsen Twins movie When in Rome in 2002 (eleven years after said cut was recorded). No clue how that came about.

Maybe the film's music editor -- I guess that's what the position would be called -- was related to one of the band members. I've always heard, "It's not what you know, it's who you know."
