Knew of them, but didn't know them personally. Used to hear them on the local NPR station's New Wave show quite a bit.
I was under 21 when most of the bands on Test Patterns were playing, and the clubs all had pretty strict age policies (which had to be weird for the Oozkicks, since they were all teenagers themselves.) Then of course as soon as I turned 21, all the clubs went to all-ages shows. Sons of bitches.
