This is actually the
setlist from his Atlanta show from a few days ago, but it's identical to what he played last night here in Austin.
After seeing him several times the past year where he mostly concentrated on
Copper Blue and the same Husker Du songs he's been playing for the past several years, there were some surprises: "Flip Your Wig," "Your Favorite Thing," "Hate Paper Doll," "Come Around" (the only
Beaster song, alas), "Ego-override," a decent handful (finally) of
Silver Age tracks.
He was also looser than I've ever seen him - he's been smiling a lot on this tour, but there were times when the band seemed to be barely keeping it together, and nobody minded. Ragged but right. He even had an extra mic that he handed to the crowd so folks could sing along with "Makes No Sense At All."
Not the tightest show I've ever seen him do, but very satisfying.
