Yeah, I had to last year. Netflix used to have all the old SNLs. It is fun to go back through and watch all the live musical performances.
If you live in or near a city, check this out:

It works great.

I stopped watching any television 20 years ago. It takes away time better spent listening to music! Music IS your best entertainment value!

PPM, I totally agree about "entertainment value". I come home every night and listen to music. I find it strange to think of all those people out there staring zombie-eyed at the lastest permutation of the police drama or the mind-numbing narrowcast sameness of reality shows.

I'm the same way. After dinner, for me, it's time for some music. My wife might want to watch television, and occasionally I'll watch a program with her, but most often, it's the music I want. Often it's because I'm busy on other things, and I can enjoy music as a backdrop, whereas if I have the TV on, it'll just distract me. Other times, like Nosepail, I just can't imagine sitting through the latest boring shows.

But, how do you watch BASEBALL?!?

Baseball is best enjoyed as a crackling AM radio in the background.

Awesome. I agree.

Add to that the smell of your great grandfather's pipe tobacco and the obligatory Zippo fumes and you practically have a page out of my childhood.

The Big Red Machine. I believe that's what they called 'em.

I watch baseball the same way I'd watch any other sport. I'd go see it in person. If I can't do that, I'd prefer to do something else.

Wrong answers. Baseball is best on TV where you can see the pitcher's grip and spin of the pitch in slow-mo. I'm such a baseball junkie...it is the main reason I pay for cable TV.

Respectfully, Zoo, we have a difference of opinion. But that's okay. I've always been the odd man out on this topic.

I enjoy most sports, if I can be there to watch them in person. There are a few exceptions. Auto racing probably tops that list; whether live or on television, it bores the crap out of me. Same with golf. Mark Twain was right: golf is just a way to ruin an otherwise perfectly good walk.

But if a sport is on television, I'm liable to sprain my wrist in my haste to change the channel.

Yep, we also cut the cable to save costs. I do miss Laker games tho - I sure as hell can't afford to see 'em live.

Highly-recommended free on-line/YouTube goodness I've been diggin' recently:

- Sun Ra "Space is The Place" feature film
- Screamin Jay Hawkins feature length doc
- The Cramps live at Napa Valley Mental Hospital

Clash album upgraded to fine due to today's dirth of quality music, and so the excellence curve must dip.
