bought the rocku box and got rid of the cable
finding great music movies, concerts, etc on hulu, netflix, etc.......

Yeah, I had to last year. Netflix used to have all the old SNLs. It is fun to go back through and watch all the live musical performances.

I stopped watching any television 20 years ago. It takes away time better spent listening to music! Music IS your best entertainment value!

PPM, I totally agree about "entertainment value". I come home every night and listen to music. I find it strange to think of all those people out there staring zombie-eyed at the lastest permutation of the police drama or the mind-numbing narrowcast sameness of reality shows.

I'm the same way. After dinner, for me, it's time for some music. My wife might want to watch television, and occasionally I'll watch a program with her, but most often, it's the music I want. Often it's because I'm busy on other things, and I can enjoy music as a backdrop, whereas if I have the TV on, it'll just distract me. Other times, like Nosepail, I just can't imagine sitting through the latest boring shows.

I watch baseball the same way I'd watch any other sport. I'd go see it in person. If I can't do that, I'd prefer to do something else.

Wrong answers. Baseball is best on TV where you can see the pitcher's grip and spin of the pitch in slow-mo. I'm such a baseball junkie...it is the main reason I pay for cable TV.

Respectfully, Zoo, we have a difference of opinion. But that's okay. I've always been the odd man out on this topic.

I enjoy most sports, if I can be there to watch them in person. There are a few exceptions. Auto racing probably tops that list; whether live or on television, it bores the crap out of me. Same with golf. Mark Twain was right: golf is just a way to ruin an otherwise perfectly good walk.

But if a sport is on television, I'm liable to sprain my wrist in my haste to change the channel.

last night watched the dead boys live at cbgbs '77, over the weekend watched mould live in dc, ladies and gents the fabulous stains, 3 punk docs from 77 ,78, smithereens, glenn o'brien house party, bad brains in DC,etc....
just watch music

Yep, we also cut the cable to save costs. I do miss Laker games tho - I sure as hell can't afford to see 'em live.
