song

It's very Gang of Four-ish, but sounds a little too melodic and overtly funky.

Yes, it's a very Dave Allen bassline, but I don't know this song and it's definitely not GO4. I wonder if it's someone like APB? I never owned anything by them, but what I remember hearing back in the 80s was kinda similar to this.

Just went through the song samples for an APB comp. This song definitely sounds a lot more like them than GoF. But I couldn't find this particular song.

I can indeed hear shades of some 90s Dischord stuff in here, but it's hard for me to imagine something like that coming out on Dischord in 1987 or before. Plus, the production seems a little too bombastic for Dischord. The British accent could be a put-on, of course.

My conclusion is, this song does not exist. I have googled every snippet of lyrics and get nothing. (Do yourself a favor and don't google "You're not fit to wipe my underpants.")
The band sounds very familiar... I was indeed thinking 90's Dischord...

Ack, there was a Chili Pepper clone in just about every town for a few years there during the late 80s/early 90s and this could be just about any of em!

It's from an old 80s mixtape, so it's not 90s Dischord. I can't imagine any 80s Dischord sounding this smooth.

Soundhound chalks up a zilch on it, too.

I had thought maybe it was one of the songs by the Au Pairs that the guy sang, but it is not.
