Last night I finished Iris Murdoch's final novel

It was called Jackson's Dilemma, and it seemed like a really strange, bad take on several Shakespearean motifs. The quality of the novel wasn't in keeping with her earlier writing. This morning, I did a bit of research, and it turns out Murdoch had Alzheimer's at the time, unbeknownst to her editor/publisher. That makes sense.

For some reason, it seems appropriate that after spending a couple of weeks plowing through that book, I discover this:

Paul's Boutique Remade

A completely unnecessary, insanely ambitious undertaking. As an homage, it works better than [Jackson&]. Of course, I loved Paul's Boutique from the first listen, so my judgment could be questioned here. At the very least, there are worse ways to spend an hour. Anyone?
