Sat in a really small room in the state of Mass. tonight and watched Lloyd Cole and his son (on fellow acoustic guitar, a duo performance) run down 20 of Lloyd's songs. We all age; watchin' Lloyd and his kid made me smile more than once.
I had seen him in a packed house at the Bowery Ballroom in 2000 in Manhattan, and had worshipped him on my Walkmen (Walkman?) back in the 1980s when I was a teen. But tonight, here in his hometown, watching him age gracefully was. . . just perfect.
