The Television Personalities are one of the most influential and prolific independent bands of all time. They had a number of hits in Britain in the late 70s and early 80s – including Part Time Punks and I Know Where Syd Barrett Lives. 2 of their albums, The Painted Word and And Don’t The Kids Just Love It…. are considered classics by many critics.

Years of drug addiction and depression led the band’s leader and songwriter, Dan Treacy, to disappear into homelessness in 1996. Fans feared the worse and those who knew his whereabouts kept quiet to protect his legacy. In April of 2004, Dan came out of hiding. He has cleaned up and has reached out to friends and fans for help.

All proceeds from our benefit will go to buying new gear and paying for recording time for Dan Treacy and the Television Personalities.

(I found this... while digging up old ghost threads.)
There isn't a friday night at my house that goes by without playing Dan's music.
A firm favorite.
I'm sorry I missed this event, but I'm sure the ACTION taken on your behalf was appreciated.
My question is, was MY DARK PLACES somehow a result of this action?
