What's the worst-named band you've ever seen in person?

There was a band in Denver in the early '80s called The Dancing Assholes. 'Nuff said.

I saw Bugs Harvey Oswald back in the 1980s. They were pretty good, but their name was not an asset in their quest for fame and riches.

Butthole Surfers

Really, how is that any worse than the Dancing Assholes?

I saw a lame-assed metal band called ...

:::drumroll:::

HEATHEN'S RAGE

... open for The Ramones at the Airport Music Hall in Allentown back in '85 or '86.

That place was a dump. Those were the days.

My girlfriend got hit by a folding table at that show. Yup.

Come to think of it, I've seen the Surfers in person ... and zoo's question is a good one. (Maybe I consider the Dancing Assholes a worse name, because they were a worse band.)

A metal band (of course) named

Krüde Wïtch

(love them umlauts!) played on the same show as my old New Wave band. We thought the name was hilarious, and joke about it to this day.

Dancing Assholes is just obvious frat boy humor, but Butthole Surfers doesn't make any literal sense, it's surreal, and transgressively vulgar in a brilliant way -just like their music (and, oh yeah, i saw 'em live lots of times).

That'd be pronouced "KREE-duh Vitch," if I'm not mistaken.

Hmmm, I wonder if any of Motörhead's German fans pronounce it "Moh-TUHR-head."
