In the ballpark. At least.

A co-worker gave me a vacant look today and said "I'm on hold."

Instantly, my mind raced back to vague memories of a song called "Hurt on Hold."

But I couldn't remember who it belonged to. My initial guess was The Original Sins.

Now that I check, it's The Fuzztones. I shoulda' known that. They had a video on 120 Minutes one weekend back in nineteen eighty-whatever. Jeez.

At least it was in the general ballpark.

BTW - I'll take The Original Sins over Mr. Protrudi's bunch any day. Is that so wrong?

I was in the ballpark watching the Rays vs. Mariners a little over a week ago.

Now playing: The Damned - The Black Album

Continuing the thread drift here: I saw yesterday that the Damned are launching onto a fall tour to perform The Black Album. Playing SF and Seattle, but skipping Portland, so I guess I'll miss 'em.

Back to ballparks: I was in the ballpark watching the Single-A Salem/Keizer Volcanoes play the Boise Bears on this past Sunday. It ain't Rays/Yankees, but it's as good as I get these days since Portland let its AAA team get away last year....

The Damned are going to be in DC late October, doing the Black Album and Damned, Damned, Damned.

I saw The Damned back in '89 on "The Last Damned Tour" which was supposedly their farewell (within two years they were back together). Anyway, at the time I'm sure they meant it. I saw them in Miami Beach in what was billed as "The Last Damned Show." They absolutely tore it up. At the end, they destroyed their instruments and lit the drums on fire. What a night.
