why was the album "i won't love you 'til you're more like me" by the
snakes originally released on DISCARD records instead of DISCHORD
records?

Because Jeff Nelson insisted it be released by Dischord, but Ian MacKaye thought it was too much of an in-joke and not serious enough. The compromise was Discard Records. This is one of the reasons that Jeff formed Adult Swim Records.
