Just yesterday I read that Ed Cobb of The Four Preps ("26 miles across the sea/Santa Catalina is is a-waitin' for me") was the improbable author of "Tainted Love" - a direct line (via Gloria Jones) from white-bread '50s vocal groups to AIDS-era '80s synth wave. Who'd a-thunk it? I must have read that at some point, but forgot it.
Cobb wrote songs for the Standells, and bam! just like that, we're back to
the Munsters thread.
