Okay, all you guys, learn your lesson from the Delvin here: Don't get your hopes up for a concert like that, till you double-check the calendar. (We have a wedding to attend that evening. Darn.)

I've seen Devo and yo la several/numerous times, and Devo is much more worth the effort and the price tag. Devo shows are an "experience."

When I saw them last year it was about a 500-capacity place. . . no fixed seating. But I honestly think the multimedia experience they put on is much more enjoyable in that kind of venue.

Really? What's the bar? And the date? (Might pull this one off yet!)

Okay, I checked Devo's web site ... and nope, no such luck. My boss will be out of town on business at that time, and I have to cover for him. No way out of that. Can't catch Devo in Aspen either.

When they played Austin a couple of months ago (a show I missed, unfortunately), they played a 2500-seat theater. I don't have a sense of whether that's the right size for them or not.

The place they played in Portland has a capacity of probably 1000 or a little more. And as I have mentioned, they sold it out.

When I saw Devo on the New Traditionalists tour in 1982, the band played a venue about that size in Boulder. It was awesome.

I first saw Devo in 1983 at the Universal Amphitheater: capacity 6100. Five years later saw 'em at the Hollywood Palace, capacity: 1250. Ouch! Their popularity certainly "devolved" in that time period.
