-- hath desecrated rock-n-roll. I was an ad agent once. The offending ad went like this:

Yes: Don't surround yourself with yourself --

Adman: (Jumps onstage and offers box of Linzers to the singer.)

Yes: (Munching) I love Linzer Squares!

Wow ... turning a Yes song into a commercial jingle takes real effort. I'm actually impressed.

Not a very effective campaign, I guess, cuz I have no idea what Linzer Squares are. If they're something Yes likes, I probably don't want to know.

Tho I could see why advertisers would want to use em: "Yes says 'YES!' to [insert product name here]"

Wait one second. Wasn't "Owner of a Lonely Heart" already turned into a commercial?

Or did I dream it?

Nah, rock 'n' roll is safe. You just desecrated Yes

Exactly. Why didn't Martini & Rossi ever contract with the band?

Good point. That song was so blatantly commercial (compared to the band's previous work) that it sometimes doesn't even register with me as being the work of Yes. Actually, the same can be said of the entire 90125 album.
