Ike Reilly

Ok, so I mention Ike in the "Bargain Prizes" thread and .......zilch. No reaction. (still waiting for that entry Ira!)....Any fans of Ike's on the TP board? I love his first 2 records - not particularly consistent but the best stuff off them is great. Don't know if I've seen much talk about him on here although I know this board is populated wth Dylan and 'Mats fans and Ike has something in common with those artists. Haven't heard his new one yet - anybody got it/able to offer a review?

I like Ike. I find the new one not nearly as immediate as Sparkle in the Finish, but it has its moments. It seems kind of subdued, which is weird coming from the IRA, but songs like "I Will Let You Down" are still pretty damn anthemic. Seriously, you'll be shouting the chorus along with him by the second iteration.

The live show in Philly a couple weeks back was smoking. Severely under-attended but those who were there had a great time.

I saw them in NYC on St. Patrick's Day, and they were phenomenal (and the -- admittedly small -- club was pretty packed).
