What does F*ed up bring to the table that Sick of it All, The Cro Mags and Youth of Today didn't do better the first time around?

Perhaps nothing, but I cant go down to the rockand roll club and see those bands play now, can I?

F*d up is not really hardcore, either. It goes right to the brink without being hardcore. The songs are anthemic without being fist pumping shlock, the singer screams his lungs out but there's usually a cleanly sung background vocal hook, the tempos are fast without becoming thrashy, the riffs are layered to take up a LOT of space, etc, etc. I think they're pretty wonderful. See 'em live and I think you'll be converted.

now that you've reminded me, mr paganizer, i would have included that rosebuds record, as well. it is special. and i think "amnesiac" is far superior to "kid a".

Also I couldn't have picked 3 more conservative hardcore bands I think F*d up are little more anarchic at least from what little I have heard (more circle jerkish.)
I think it is more about me. I just don't have the anger in me to deal with that stuff. When I was 16 F*d Up would have been the tops, but now I am spent.

SOmehow I still have the angst, totalji. I can still tap into whatever emotion hard rock and punk connected with when I was 15. I'll get back to you in a few years
