Anybody seen 'em on this tour, or anytime in the last few years? I don't have much of their newer stuff and am not entirely sure what to expect.

To the best of my knowledge/research, they've never played in my neck of the woods. I'm envious.

An update for anyone who gives a shit: it was a pretty great show and surprisingly rocking. Chris sang substantially more songs than anyone else and there weren't enough Jay songs, but it's just a really cool thing to see a band with 4 guys who can all sing, and sing well.

They were also funny and self-effacing, noting that the smallish club wasn't exactly packed to the gills but saying how much better the Portland crowd was than the Seattle crowd had been the night before. Patrick: "Screw it, next time we're just gonna skip Seattle and play 2 nights here." Chris: "Yeah, but what are we gonna do the 2nd night?"
and it makes me wonder...

saw them 3 times (philadelphia area) since 2006, and enjoyed all of their shows. the latest ep does not slay me, but they are an engaging and exciting live band and they do what they do very well.

can anyone say with authority whether these guys are "stars" back in Canada? all the shows i've seen were sparsely attended (in very small clubs) and i couldn't help thinking "does it actually pay for these guys to travel with selves and equipment all over creation to play in what amounts to a bar with a backroom stage? so glad that they do, but it makes me wonder...

ps..anyone else see the resemblance (physically) their drummer has to Stewart Copeland?

I definitely caught the resemblance of the drummer to L'il Stewie!

As for how big they are in Canada, I too have heard that they're superstars there. The guy I went with ran into a classmate of his who was from Detroit or something, and she claimed that Sloan would sell out consecutive nights in much bigger venues there. We've got a Canuck or two on this board, right? Let's hear it from the horse's mouth, M.Johnson!

For a second there I was thinking iAction Pact! had reformed to play the ACL Music Festival.
Haven't heard London Bouncers for a while.

As far as I know, the only time they've played Austin was at the ACL Music Festival. Which I saw, and they were terrific (despite the fact that these poor Canadians were wilting in the Central TX heat). That was the first time I really got them. They were supporting Action Pact, of which they played a fair chunk. That's not one of their best-loved albums, I've noticed, but it's probably my favorite.
