There really was a band called the grateful dead kennedys.

LOTS of great potential band names here. Tho you'd probably get sued and have to change your name, like what happened to Pink Floyd the Barber.

Upon realizing the name of the band Times New Viking is a play on the font Times New Roman (and, one supposes, the punny Camper Van Beethoven's New Roman Times to some extent), I concluded most people aren't going to get the joke and it's not funny anyway. I can't listen to them because of this. I wonder if anyone had a similar reaction to The Beatles...
