Elvis Costello Movies

For whatever reason I was thinking about the movie AMERICATHON from the late 70s, in which Elvis Costello appeared, alongside Meat Loaf, John Ritter and the guy who played Sidney Friedman on MASH. (I'm sure there were other people in the movie, too, but I've supressed the memory of it as best I can.) But that made me wonder how many other movies EC has appeared in.

I remember him in:

AMERICATHON, STRAIGHT TO HELL, SPICE WORLD and AUSTIN POWERS 2.

Has he appeared in anything else that anyone knows of? The IMDB entry for him isn't real clear.

"the guy who played Sidney Friedman on MASH" was Alan Arbus, the onetime husband of photographer Diane Arbus and the star of Greaser's Palace, directed by Robert Downey (a prince).

EC appears as himself in the movie *200 Cigarettes*.

Courtney Love also appears in that movie, portraying a rather sleazy, dissipated, self-destructive, unappealing woman who drinks too much, uses foul language, and has a history of bad behavior and unhappy relationships.

So it's a work of fiction?

Wasn't Courtney also in Straight to Hell? If so, does this make her and EC candidates for the new Tracy and Hepburn?

Out of curiousity I looked up AMERICATHON on IMDB - it actually had a pretty interesting cast - in addition to Ritter, Costello, Arbus and Mr. Loaf, there's Fred Willard, Peter Riegert, George Carlin, Chief Dan George, Jay Leno (back when he was funny), Howard Hesseman, Cybill Shepherd AND Dorothy Stratten (No Peter Bogdonavich involvement that I can see, though), Harvey Korman, John Carradine, Tommy Lasorda (!) and Ben Fong Torres (????) playing the character "Chinese." It was written by Peter Bergman and Phil Proctor of the Firesign Theater and directed by Neil Israel, who went on to helm much of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's finest work.

I may need to check it out again - I saw it in the theater when it first came out and haven't seen it since - I assumed all existing copies had been taken away and buried under a mountain in Turkmenistan. I'm sure it's every bit as awful as I remember it having been back in high school, but the people involved now has me curious to at least take another look at it.
