Anyone seen Funny People yet?

Highly (cynically) ambitious in an Oscar-grab sort of way.

Didn't like it much but I found Sandler's take on Lennon's Real Love highly affecting.

I didn't believe it could be Sandler singing, but apparently it is. They must have done some studio tinkering with his voice. Kudos for the arrangement though. And just the general use of the song.

Will Ferrell did a nice job on the (admittedly 2-chord simple) Wreckless Eric song "I'd Go The Whole Wide World" in the film "Stranger Then Fiction."

And Adam Sandler always does a comic take on Bob Dylan in his more recent movies. Does he intentionally do that, or is it just because he looks kinda like Dylan?

And would you rather have the real Bob Dylan, or would you have this comic Bob Dylan lookalike speaking in a baby voice, singing The Hannukah Song for the thousandth time?

I haven't seen Funny People yet, so I can't comment on Sandler's singing in the movie.

Based on what I've heard in his previous movies and his SNL routines, I'd rather listen to Dylan blowing his nose than Sandler singing anything.

Well, get used to it. Adam said that on the day Bob Dylan dies, he will do a concert in Central Park singing all of Dylan's classics in his funny, baby voice. He will also do Dylan as Happy Gilmore and other routines.

Possible cause for a TP-sponsored bullet riddled encore. Polish your weapons, everybody.
