A quick hello

Hi. My name is Dee (short for Deirdre) and I've just joined this forum. Some of my favorite bands are DM, The The, Curve, The Chameleons, Dead Can Dance and a plethora of others. I look forward to exchanging thoughts and ideas with other music lovers. Cheers!

Is Curve still around, or are they officially broken up again? Great band - saw them live several years ago and they were great, although anytime Toni Halliday smiled she looked exactly like Wednesday Addams when the camp counsellors forced her to smile in Addams Family Values.

Welcome. Your name reminds me of the late great Los Angeles DJ Deirdre O'Donahue, who introduced me to so much amazing music (including some of those bands on your list.)

Curve opened for J&MC during the height of shoegaze and were quite entertaining. Erstwhile, just this week I popped in 1998's 'Come Clean'. Didn't know I had it and was a little excited to hear it again. Ended up straight on the reject pile. I guess Doppelganger has no doppelganger.

I liked "Chinese Burn" quite a bit, but overall I agree Come Clean seemed to be lacking something - although that may just be the whole "comeback albums are always disappointing" syndrome - they rarely live up to expectations. (Which is why I kind of dread the new Kate Bush album that's rumored to be due at any moment. God, please let it be good.) But the material from Come Clean worked great live.

Cuckoo is still their best album. Think I'll try to dig it up tonight, in fact.

From what I remember (it's been a while since I listened to it) the next album followed along the lines of Come Clean. Haven't heard anything else since then.

The sad thing about Curve is they could never collect royalties from albums by Garbage, They should've been able to, though.
