I feel like picking on Gwen Stefani with this one.

"And while I'm sippin my chamomile, I'm watchin boy and girls with their sex appeal."

Plus her insightful observations of the sexes:

"And all the girls wanna get with the boys, and the boys really like it."

And her accurate summation of life:

"Hey baby, hey baby, hey..."

I listened to Pete Shelley's Homosapien album this morning and was struck by the silliness of the first line of the second song (I didn't go back to check was it was called and hadn't otherwise listened to the album in most of two decades, I think). The line is something like "Looking back on your life is a retrospective thing...." No shit, Pete.

Yer shootin' fish inna barrel. Way too easy.

Try the same exercise, only this time with Bob Dylan lyrics.
MUCH more interesting results, I'm sure.

hmmm, having NEVER been a Dylan fan, I'll nominate this tripe:
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup, Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop...

Good one, Mike. It makes my flesh creep.

Jermoe, those are dance crazes (The Hitch-Hike) or Joe's invented would-be Russian dance-crazes.

The Wiggles - Pop Goes The Wiggle Nursery Rhymes, Wiggle & Learn, It's A Wiggly World. Leave Bob Dylan alone. Pick on The Wiggles.

I choose to attribute The Wiggles less than stellar lyrics to Greg "The Yellow" Wiggle's vertigo-type thing.

Unfortunately, I've never been able to come up with an explanation for (from "Ivan Meets G.I. Joe," by The Clash):

The Vostok Bomb - the Stalin strike
He tried every move - he tried to hitch hike
He drilled a hole - like a Russian star
He made every move in his repertoire

I do so love The Clash, but I've never been able to come around to this one.
