"Ashes To Ashes," now airing on BBCAmerica, is set in 1981 London, and the most recent episode (#2) featured:

Ultravox "Vienna"

Visage "Fade To Grey"
Madness (forgot which tune, but 'twas a good 'un)
The Pop Group's "We Are All Prostitutes," which was not only played, but figured into the plot.

Oh, and a menacing Bowie-from-the"Ashes-To-Ashes"-video keeps popping up to disturb our protagonist.

The show's the sequel series to "Life On Mars" with another detective being sucked back into time. Not quite as good as "Mars" but, hey, it sounds good.

Wiki sez: "The Prince" was the Madness tune, and Steve Strange of Visage played himself!

FYI: for those with On Demand access, it looks like the first 3 episodes are available as of this weekend.

Saw a repeat of C.S.I. recently that had a lab montage set to The Cocteau Twins' "The Thinner The Air" from VICTORIALAND.

I think it is an AT&T commercial out now that is using the Sea and the Cake's "Jacking the Ball"

I haven't seen The Wedding Singer (Adam Sandler, right?), but I do sing along to "Major Tom" whenever I hear it. Whether you're talking about the Bowie song or the Peter Schilling one.

It took me years to get my wife to stop thinking that Peter Himmelman did that.

Steve, just to clarify, the Adam Sandler film that features Bowie's "Space Oddity" is "Mr. Deeds". Also a great cameo by John Mcenroe.
