Can't believe the Replacements were mentioned but not "Here Comes a Regular." I asked Paul to scrawl a line from that on a small, xeroxed concert poster over 20 years ago...he scrawled as requested but misquoted himself (tumbler of Jack in one hand, sharpie in the other). Still have the poster. Instead of "God rest his guts," he wrote "God love yer guts, Paul." Maybe it was on purpose. It was in Tennessee, and he was standing around drinking with Dan Baird from the Georgia Satellites.

Actually, that's one of those traditional Irish pub sing-alongs. (I've wailed along with the crowd to that tune, a couple of times.) Thin Lizzy is the first rock band to have recorded it; more folk-oriented artists, like the Young Dubliners, have recorded it since the 1950s.

Gang Green owns this category. Their best - Ballad. Sort of a Here Comes a Regular for the non-thinking hardcore guy.
