On Thursday, July 14, Michael Dahlquist of Silkworm, John Glick of The Returnables, and Doug Meis of The Dials were all killed when a woman intent on killing herself rammed her speeding car into their vehicle as it was stopped at a red light.
Silkworm and The Returnables both received favorable write-ups in the Trouser Press, and The Dials were slated to release a new disc this fall that would've probably gotten them in there, as well. I know for a fact that getting a good review from Ira was a personal highlight for John, who had heavily dog-eared copies of each edition of the Guide littered throughout his home.
It's a damn shame that such gifted individuals had to be taken from us in such a thoughtless manner.
