Re: Favorite radio station(s) survey

Thanks to my younger son (turning 2 on Valentine's Day), I've become a huge fan of WRFG (Radio Free Georgia) 89.3, Atlanta. They have a 4-hour blues show every weekday morning, and our boy can't get enough of it. They play an extremely wide variety, and none of the people involved are trying to "take the next step," they're just sharing their love of whatever music they're passionate about.

As a younger person, I swore by WRAS 88.5, but not so much now. Maybe I changed, maybe they changed, maybe both of us changed, but I can't wholeheartedly recommend Album 88...

Commercial radio in Colorado Springs is the dead zone, but the local college stations do their best. KRCC 91.5, the local NPR station, has good free-form music programming during the weekdays and late nights. The weeknights have improved since they stopped devoting every one of them to jazz; now they rotate it through the week, with programs devoted to R&B/funk, hip-hop, alt-country and jazz. And Saturday nights are a pleasure to listen to, with my old friend G.T. and his rock show "Vintage Voltage."

KEPC 89.7 also is a good station, whose music programming might almost as well come from the Trouser Press record guides.
