I believe fantasy writer Michael Moorcock worked Lemmy and members of Hawkwind into his stories from time to time.

I think Amos was also an inspiration for several Neil Gaiman characters, but can't remember which ones.

And Bruce Sterling once wrote a story called "Dori Bangs" which followed the life of Lester Bangs if he hadn't died young.

I see that both Sonic Youth books are edited by the same guy - same book, different titles? Confusion Is Text.

Does the Fall book have every sentence-uh...written-uh...like THIS-uh..?

Talking Heads 77: The Novel

And I saw a comic book called "Blue Monday - Thieves Like Us" but flipping thru it I couldn't immediately see any New Order connection.

Ever read the original comic series The Crow? James O'Barr worked Joy Division references into that one, from start to finish. He used the titles of several JD songs as chapter titles (even using the same font that Peter Saville used on the Closer sleeve), and worked Ian Curtis' lyrics into the dialogue. Also, he drew the main character as a hybrid of Peter Murphy and Iggy Pop.

They're not a TP band (anymore, though they were in the first edition of the TP Guide), but the Bill Forsyth movie Comfort and Joy was inspired by "Telegraph Road" by Dire Straits.

Very loosely inspired, since there's not much similarity between a movie about a radio DJ getting caught up in a turf battle between rival ice cream vendors and a song about an unemployed man traveling a road surrounded by abandoned factories. But Forsyth claimed it's where he got the idea.

Claire Grogan was damn cute in the movie, too.
