Welcome to the Trouser Press Message Board
November 12, 2003 02:37AM
Since we launched this incarnation of www.trouserpress.com in August 2002, we've gotten nearly 30 million hits (!) and an awful lot of e-mail. (thank you thank you thank you!) Much of it has fallen into certain familiar categories:

1) why isn't [fill in the band name] covered on the site?
2) where can i buy a certain record?
3) do you have lyrics to this song?
4) how can i get in touch with so-and-so?
5) the writer of the entry on [fill in the band name] is a complete idiot.

We're dealing with #1 as time and resources allow, subject to what we think belongs here. We can't do much about #2, #3, #4 and #5 -- they seem more suited to a public forum, so we created one. Welcome to it.

Feel free to post away, but please observe a couple of general guidelines (alright, rules):

Keep the debates clean and courteous. You know the drill. I don't expect the folks that visit us here to be the sort that would post anything truly offensive, but be aware that such writings are not acceptable here.

Please keep the topics of discussion at least somewhat related to what trouser press is about. Good organizational skills and sensibilities when it comes to starting and following threads are much appreciated.

Record buying, selling and swapping is encouraged, but we take no responsibility whatsoever for any transactions that may result from contacts begun in this forum. You're on your own. (The same goes for any relationships that may arise from this cauldron!)

Blatantly commercial posts and any topics widely outside of the realm of music will be deleted.

Have fun and let the messaging begin!

Hi Ira! Excellent idea to have message boards, and I'm proud to be possibly the first to reply to your hard work. Trouser is an excellent site, well done! For other readers, let me say that I came across trouser by chance and then wondered why I wasn't included in it as I'd had a fair bit of musical activity during the late 70's, early 80's. Next thing I know, Ira responds to my query asking for cd's and a bio - so I'm hoping I will be included shortly. Now that's efficiency!!
That's it for now - looking forward for my inclusion - whatever the write up!!
Best wishes to all at Trouser - an invaluable service.Cool!

Ah yes, you may be first to write but alas, you are the last to shave.

Any artiste can be covered here by adding them to the Message Board.
No one can possibly know even a fraction of what's available or has been available and you tend to concentrate on musics you specialise in
