Just so y'all know, Nick Lowe graced the
ACL stage with his considerable presence this past Thursday. He played solo and was charming and brilliant. Nothing from
Jesus of Cool, alas, but otherwise it was a great mix of older songs and the stuff he's been writing the past decade. Plus he played an as-yet-unrecorded tune called "I Read a Lot." I don't know which tunes are going to make the half-hour slot he'll be given in the final edit, but they'll all be good 'ns.
The show should air the weekend of Jan. 31 on your PBS station.
Sorry if this sounds like a press release - not my intention. But it was an incredible show and I wanted to give the heads up to folks I know will appreciate Nick Lowe getting a half-hour on TV to show his stuff.
