Here's why you should listen to Cock Robin.

"...veiny, throbbing guitars..." - Village Voice

"...pounding beats that make the ears erect..." - Rolling Stone

"...long, thick solos that penetrate the listener..." - Melody Maker

"...this makes for hot, sticky, enjoyable fun!" - Trouser Press

So go out and him a fair shake today!

Yes, I still enjoy making this stuff up!

There really is a rocker that goes by the name of Cock Robin. I checked his videos on YouTube. Nobody joked about the pubic inclinations of his name except me, so I thought it helpful to share my inane juvenalia with you guys!

There was actually a band named Cock Robin around in Southern CA in the '70s that featured Glenn Campbell, an ex-member of the Misunderstood (not the other one), which I read about in Ugly Things.

I remember a Cock Robin from the '80s. They had a girl singer (was she "Robin" and the other guys were the...? Never mind.)

The '80s band Cock Robin was the first thing I thought of, too. Basically a lightweight pop band. Certainly not an exemplar of "veiny, throbbing guitars," "pounding beats," or any of that other nudge-nudge-wink-wink folderol. (Although a girl I knew at the time really liked the band's first album ... which made it a worthwhile selection for some "hot, sticky, enjoyable fun.")
